Hayyak, the Gulf way to say welcome.
حيّاك is what people in the Gulf say when someone walks in or calls: you're welcome here, come in. That is the job of a good front desk, so it became our name.
The symbol
Three ideas in one mark
An open doorway
The pointed arch of a Gulf doorway, the entrance to a majlis. Every customer is invited in.
A chat bubble
The same shape is a message. Hayyak lives inside your customers' conversations.
The shadda, and a smile
The doubling mark over the ي in حيّاك. It also reads as a smile, and as a reply that has been seen.
Logo
English, Arabic and both together
The wordmarks are set in Alexandria, a typeface drawn for Latin and Arabic together, so both names share the same weight and rhythm.
Colour
Our own colours, warm like Gulf hospitality
No WhatsApp green. Terracotta for action, saffron for small highlights, a deep aubergine for text and dark bands, and warm sand as the ground.

Clear in both languages
Alexandria for the logo. Plus Jakarta Sans and IBM Plex Sans Arabic for everything you read on the site and in the product.
Concepts we explored
Why the doorway won
A · The doorway Chosen
Works as a single shape at every size, from a 16-pixel favicon to a shop sign, and tells the whole story.
B · Two voices
Two arches for the customer and the business. Friendly, but it needs two colours and blurs when small.
C · The double y
The shadda placed over the doubled “yy”. A clever wordmark, but with no symbol for app icons and profile pictures.
Using the logo
A few simple rules
Give it room
Keep clear space around the logo at least the height of the symbol's inner mark.
Keep it legible
Use the full logo at 24 pixels tall or more. Below that, use the symbol alone.
Don't recolour
Only terracotta, coral on dark, or one-colour white. Never WhatsApp green.
Don't redraw
No stretching, outlines, shadows or rotating. Use the files as they are.
